All over the country, new dog waste removal services are being started, and customers are signing up for them. Demographics and social trends point to an accelerating demand for personal services for busy professionals and executives, single parent households, and people who simply have better things to do than scoop up after their dogs.
Why would someone hire a pooper scooper?
We are very similar to a lawn care company, and many people hire us for the same reasons:
-You may have limited physical ability, like an elderly person or someone recovering from an accident.
-You may own several dogs and have noted that their poop production is too overwhelming and simply can’t keep up.
-Many people find the chore disgusting and would much prefer to secure an affordable and convenient solution.
-Dog and cat feces carry many disease that can be very harmful, especially to the elderly and woman who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
-Many people with children also hire our services to keep yards clean and kid friendly.
-They can not get rid of the smell, the poo crew can.
-Spend time enjoying your pet in your yard, not scooping their poop.
What does the poo crew do?
We find, scoop, and dispose of dog poop.Where do you clean? Wherever your dog(s) go, we clean: dog runs, concrete areas, wood decks, and residential & commercial landscaped areas. One area that we really suggest considering as extra important is any area that children may play in such as sand pits etc. We can typically scoop dog poop in gardens where there is bark, river rock and pea gravel to name just a few. Additionally, we make our poop pickup services available to dog shows, commercial dog kennels, dog parks and city dog runs, as well as pet friendly apartments and home owners associations.
Is it possible to hire you for a one-time cleaning only?
Yes. We make our pooper scooper services available for large and small one time cleanings for both residential properties and commercial.
How do I start my service?
Simply call the poo crew toll free at 1-855-poo-crew (855-766-2739) or sign up online! Since there isn’t a need to create any kind of binding contract, we are completely prepared to respond to your poop pickup needs quickly. We’ll go over a couple quick questions about the number of dogs you have, etc.
Can my dogs be left in the yard when you service our property?
Depends. If your pets have no trouble being around us, then yes they can be in the yard each time we come and scoop their poop, and we are happy for the company. If you know that your pets have had trouble with people in the past, please notify us of any information. Also when we are coming to service your yard and you have aggressive or territorial dogs, please ensure we are not in your yard before you allow your dogs out in the yard. If this is a one time service/spring clean, we will ask that the dogs be inside for this service.
Will my service day ever change?
Not likely, however service days may change. We doo this in order to keep prices low and have the best possible service for our clients. This may happen when:-we gain new customers-due to construction-seasonal changes-or (being the new customer), figuring out where you will fit best.Although we have gone to great lengths to partition our routes in a way that ensures that a client can depend on us showing up on a predetermined day. We challenge ourselves to always keep that day the same.
What are your discounts?
Poo crew offers a referral program for our weekly service to all of our clients and local businesses who refer us new weekly clients or just ask if we have any promotions going on. Most importantly though we like to support non profits such as shelters and other types of organizations, you can pick up some of our best deals at fundraisers where you can find our items in the silent auction.
How does your referral program work?
If you refer someone to our weekly service you will receive a month of service for free for yourself.
Can we get items for our fundraiser?
Yes! Poo crew believes in supporting the communities we live in, just give us a call and we will work with you to find the best items.
Is there an extra charge for the first visit?
Dependant on the amount of feces in the yard prior to the weekly service. This is all based on time and will be discussed on the phone.
Should i have my gate unlocked on my scheduled service day?
Yes. Since we do not climb or jump fences. We require that you make arrangements with us so that we can have access to your yard that day. You may also leave us a key or combination lock. If we are unable to gain entry to your property you will still be billed for that week.
How do you prevent the spread of disease and other things that can harm your pets?
We take this as serious as you do! The equipment that we use in each client's yard is consistently cleaned off after each property we leave. We use various disinfectants for this purpose including disinfectants that kill parvo (link about parvo: http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/dognz/a/parvodog_2.htm). Also all our shoes are cleaned between yards. Please know that we have consulted with veterinarians and done hours of research to understand everything there is to know about potential diseases. From our research we have decided to use the same methods and solutions that your local vet office uses, however our mix is 50% to 100% stronger.
How will i know if it is the poo crew entering my property?
Our trucks/cars have the poo crew logo on them and we should be wearing poo crew clothing if your neighbours are ever concerned, we encourage them to just ask us who we are and why we are there.
As a customer of the poo crew, is my satisfaction guaranteed?
Absolutely. We promise to make every effort to leave your home free of dog poop by the time we exit your property. That’s how we make our money and you, as our clients, deserve nothing less. Since our company’s good name & reputation is dependent upon the quality of service we render, it is our sincere desire that you phone us if you ever feel that you have received a level of service that is substandard to what we have discussed. You and your pets satisfaction is all that’s important. And we will come back to your property within 48 hours.
Do you provide service on holidays?
We do not work holidays, if your service lands on a holiday or long weekend your service will be completed the day prior or the day after.
Is there a service contract needed?
No. Just start or stop service any time you like. Can I skip a service?Yes. Just call and let us know how many service days you would like to skip. There will be no charge for those skipped days. Poo crew will pro-rate your next month’s bill or your bill can represent the amount of cleans required for that month if you know in advance that you’re leaving on vacation.Important: please notify us 24 hours before your service day so it can be removed from the system, if you do not your service fee will still be charged.
Does my dog's waste make good fertilizer?
Absolutely not! Please do your research here. Don’t take my word for it. Dog and cat waste is incredibly hazardous. As a matter of fact, it is by definition labeled as “hazardous waste” by environmental agencies. I would seriously suggest that you do not use this poisonous fecal matter in hopes of achieving fertilizer like results in your lawn or garden.Great links:http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/dognz/a/parvodog_2.htmhttp://www.associatedcontent.com/article/233578/dangers_of_not_picking_up_after_your.html?cat=53http://dogtalk101.blogspot.com/2010/01/facts-about-dangers-of-dog-poop.htmlhttp://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/07/05/02/the-potential-dangers-of-fecal-and-other-contamination-from-pets-in-your-home.htm
Do you clean all year?
Yes! We find our customers don't like to be outside cleaning during winter's cold temperatures. In fact, winter is one of our busiest times of the year. Keeping up during the winter helps keep an aesthetically pleasing yard, as well as a diseases-free yard in the spring (parvo can survive even in the winter), to top it off, you will have no spring clean up and your yard/lawn will be much healthier.
Will the poo crew give me a free estimate?
Yes. If you need a price, we can give you a price over the phone. What can I do to ensure all the poops in my yard are found? Clear your yard of excessive leaves, tall grass and weeds, scattered debris, large puddles of water and muddy areas, trees and trampolines. These items make it difficult to scoop all poops, as we will not be moving these items to look underneath. Note:we provide a trampoline and deck solution so your dog does not defecate under these or other items and areas. Poo crew promises that you will be completely satisfied with your service or we will make it right! We know our business depends on doing excellent work, and it's the quality of our service on which we stake our success. We work very hard to make our name mean reliable, high-quality service. We strive to provide perfect service, but if there is ever a time when our service is not completely satisfactory, please let us know right away. Our business depends on you!
